Though it would've been a little bit more in-depth. I couldn't find a way to clip items either so all the tables were inline. In was annoying to see that some tables were not symmetrical. Maybe I'll have another go down the line, at the moment I'm staying away.. Nothing makes me happier than firing a waiter.. Cant event get restaurant to turn on. This game is poorly designed and is not user friendly, after watching youtube videos on how to get things to work I still was unable to have people enter the restuarant. Its not a matter of it being a hard game its a matter of no tutorial and no way to activate. Sad becaue the game looked good.. i really hoped that this game will be like restaurant city (an old game in facebook) because that game was amazing, and this game is not like that at all. the good thing is this game still in development so keep it up developers!. the sim for week needs to be fix. The whole budget really needs to be explained more. Love the game just frustrating to see you have a positive 300 day but somehow your at -1,000 next time youre open. Sadly at this point I can't recommend this game, even though I absolutely love it. There are simply far too many bugs in it for it to be released, and I therefor can't recommend people to spend money on it. It's too bad really. The idea and concept of this game is absolutely brilliant. When it works, I absolutely love playing it. My girlfriend and I love creating recipes in the creator, which is a great addition, although a bit wierd to get into at first. (She's a pastry chef and I'm a bartender, so the culinary world is a passion of ours). On the possitive side, so far the developers and support crew have been great. They're working hard to clean up the bugs in the game, so at some point I'm sure this game will be perfect. But for now, hold off on the buy.. This game is a mixed bag; there are areas that are great, but other that show a bit of concern on the design side. The good is the fun you get from the game: you feel like you own the place; but at the same time there are things that get in the way of your fun.Graphics are serviceable; the style is simplistic but it works just fine. Animations are very approximate; and the customers often sit floating or have their feet going through the table. Same for the other actions; but it is just a matter of fix their position, so nothing that can't be fixed easily.The UI is really in need of a overhaul; some sections are serviceable, but others looks like the basic UI from Unity; and the informations are not supplied in a useful way.For example, if you want to know which dish is selling the most, or how much you make with each dish, that info is not available to you. You get a list of what people ordered and how much they paid; that's it.Another problem with the graphics is that you can't move things once you put them down. So if you want to re-arrange tables and furnitures, you can't do that.Sound is fine; some nice tunes here and there and some sound effects.Gameplay is the meat here; and the overall feel of owning a restaurant is there; in particular there is an amazing recipe creator; that allow you to make what you want. Although, the UI and design choices, once again get in your way.You can create a new recipe, but the UI does really a bad job at saving it; so you need to find a small icon to save it; and once you click it nothing happen. The recipe stay there and you have no idea if it is saved or not.Also there is no way to modify an existing recipe (either that you created or that was already in the game). UI need works for sure.Finances are handled in a cycle, so 1 day equal to 1 week and at the end you get a summary. You can influence the income by using cheaper ingredients in recipe; changing the price of dishes, and cutting on cleaning and safety costs; although the mainteinance for your equipment is always there, even if you don't use the equipment; which is weird. I would rather pay more for the equipment but not have a weekly mainteinance fee that sucks up a lot of money in the beginning. Or allow for lease of items, since kitchen ware for restaurants is not cheap.Also you have a perennial rent fee for your restaurant; you can't buy the lot, so you are stuck with that payment. Gameplay is mostly automated; customers get in, the waiter let them seat and take their order, pass the order to you in the kitchen (because you can't afford a chef yet), and then they eat it; leaving a feedback about the various aspects of your restaurant (food quality, service, prices and overall ambience of the restaurant). You can influence these values by cleaning more often the restaurant (but that cost money), hiring better employees and improving the recipe by creating better ones.Overall you seem to be in control of the game loop, and in the beginning you have to be very conservative with money. The recipe creator require you to do 2 things: unlock ingredients (you get ingredient points every few days), and unlock skills and recipe in your skill tree (you get points every few days). The idea is good but the implementation is flawed. You have 3 different quality of ingredients; each progressively more expensive in terms of points, but they all end up in the ingredients list, and they are not differentiated, so it is just a big mess of ingredients; when you create a recipe. You need to pay attention to their cost, because better ingredients cost you more. This part needs a lot of work to be improved. Also you choose ingredients by a huge canvas, that can be scrolled both directions; which while looking interesting, is a pain to use.Once you set ingredients the recipe creator give you a generic rating for the new recipe; and if it is not balanced in one of its component (like bitterness, sweetness, sourness and such). Also keep in mind that each restaurant has specific clientele, so you need to make recipe in the groups that people that visit your restaurant more often, likes.I did spend few hours with the game but it has potential; what need to be fixed is the UI for sure; and some design choices to improve, but the core of the game seems like the old school tycoon games, so I am hopeful for this game.. This is the early acess review, so I gave it a good review out of hope. I longed for a good restaurant mangemet sims for years. But if this is the finished product, it is far from a decent management sims game. The hours played is only 5 mins but I played it offline for much longer than that.The concepts is very interesting and sounds fun to experiment on but after you tried playing it you'll find that it gets you nowhere because you could not properly judge the result of your experiments. This game has many well thought out moving parts for example The Recipes Editor, The Customers Traits, The Menu Perks and The Ingredients Panel are simply brilliant. But they're being held back by the game's shallow managment layer and the lack of meaningful stat display.With the recipe editor, I can design my own dishes with granular details. You want to make a mussel pasta with chocolate and anchovy? You can. You want to make it better with better grade of ingredients? You can. You want to poppulate your menu with meat and meat and meat to attract certain meat craze customer type? You can. But without meaningful way to track performance of a specific dish (sells number, profit etc.) How would you know if that dish you spent half an hour designing is good or not. The only way is to scan the countless rows of all the orders that have been eaten sice the first day of yor restaurant's grand opening. A simple spreadsheet with filtering and sorting would go a long way in this game. You also can't edit the existing dishes. If you want to improve upon the old menu, you'll have to design a new one and delete the old one. And good luck remembering its list of ingredients because after you've created a dish, you can't even look into the dish to see what ingredients it made off.If this game can inprove upon its management side of the restaurant, make it more intuitive and easier to handle. it would have revitalize the genre.Edit: words. This game is definitely still in early access and can get repetitive. However, I definitely still recommend it. What it is now is already very fun, and the recipe editor is a fun tool. The devs are very responsive to player feedback and are on the ball with their timeline as far as I can tell, which is frankly more than you can say about a lot of early access games. They intend to implement story as time goes on and are increasing the depth of the simulation. I'd say definitely give it a shot.
